As 2019 comes to a close, we know there is a lot on the line in 2020. Through rich conversation with many movement leaders, we have come to believe that the year ahead offers us crucial opportunities in the struggle for collective liberation. 2020 offers us the opportunity to roll back some of the gains made by white nationalism in recent years, to shape the terrain we organize on moving forward, and to position our movements to act powerfully to confront climate chaos and structural racism while bringing thousands of new people into movements for liberation. 2020 is going to be a critical year in beating back the attacks on immigrant communities and turning up the heat on companies and local governments that collaborate with ICE. 2020 is going to be a critical year in resourcing environmental organizers to orient towards climate solutions led by those communities in the US and around the world who are already facing the deadly impacts and to be prepared to stand along side them in land defense, anti-extraction and other efforts. 2020 is also going to be a critical year in contributing meaningful and material solidarity to movements abroad that are engaged in uprisings against neoliberalism and US domination.
