Dear friends, families and comrades, Thank you all for the tremendous support, guidance, and love that so many of you have contributed to help us build the four-month Anne Braden Anti-Racist Training Program. Catalyst Project and the Anne Braden leadership team are in high gear preparing for the kick-off on Saturday, Feb. 2, and we’re incredibly excited. With the Iraq war in its fifth year, the struggle to rebuild New Orleans for Black working class families long from over, and a growing movement for climate justice taking root, we have been told by many of you that there is a huge need for something like the Anne Braden program. |

Catalyst's Internship Program |
I first decided to intern with Catalyst Project because, from what I had heard and seen from afar (aka the East Coast), they were serious about building a movement that centers racial justice with white people right there in that struggle. The members of Catalyst seemed to have not just the analysis, but the strategies, humility, and love necessary for the kind of work I knew I wanted to be doing and was trying to do, and honestly, I wanted to get more of that for myself. |

Catalyst Project Launches |
The Anne Braden Anti-Racist Training Program For White Social Justice Activists, Spring of 2008
This four month political education and leadership development program is designed to support the political development, skills, and analysis of white activists in becoming accountable, principled anti-racist organizers building multiracial movements for justice. The program will begin in February of 2008. Application Process closed.

Catalyst Benefit Brings Out a Community of Support
On May 22nd over 80 people come together at El Rio, a community bar in the Mission District, for the Heads Up Collective monthly film series. Heads Up Collective, a sister organization of the Catalyst Project, has been using the film series over the past 3 years to help build a community of people committed to anti-imperialist politics, raise money for grassroots organizations and show radical documentaries on historical and current struggles for justice. In May, Heads Up worked with the Catalyst Project to show “Freedom on My Mind” about the Civil Rights movement in Mississippi and the Student Non-Violent Coordinating Committee.

Building Grassroots Power: The Catalyst Delegation and Program at the National Conference on Organized Resistance: March 9-11th 2007
With over a thousand activists from around the country, Catalyst led three sessions at this years National Conference on Organized Resistance. NCOR, which was founded by Catalyst advisor Nisha Anand, celebrated it’s 10 year anniversary. NCOR is a key location for anarchist and anti-authoritarian left activists and organizers to participate in workshops, panels and discussions on a wide range of issues and themes. |
