Our national political education program focuses primarily on supporting anti-racist political analysis and leadership development in mostly white sectors of the Left. We work in three areas, to support social justice organizations, strengthen left institutions and develop programs for national progressive conferences. The goals of our political education program are as follows:
- Develop systemic analysis of both justice and liberation,
- Strengthen Left organizations and institutions,
- Support anti-racist leadership in mostly white sectors of the Left and help build multiracial alliances,
- Increase the capacity of white social justice activists to move white communities to stand up for racial and economic justice.
Our political education consists of participatory workshops, presentations and panels.
Workshops: We lead workshops on anti-racism, anti-imperialism, challenging male supremacy, leadership development, organization building and alliance building. Read more about our workshops here... We tailor our workshops for the needs of the organizations we work with. We also lead workshops at social justice conferences. To set up a workshop see our introduction letter and our steps to setting up a workshop . Presentations: We give presentations on challenging white supremacy, anti-racist politics and practice and multiracial left movement building. We have spoken with student and community groups and given key-note talks at conferences. Read more about our presentations... Panels: Over the years we have found that activists want to focus on hard learned lessons from the practice of putting theory into action. We have responded to this need by bringing together experienced activists and organizers on panels for national conferences. We believe that on the ground activists and organizers can provide critical guidance to both our theory and practice. Read more about our panels...
